Safety, Rights, and Advocacy

  • Report Suspected Elder Abuse (24/7) – Confidential hotline for concerns about abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Phone: 1-800-490-8505.
  • PA Long-Term Care Ombudsman – Advocates for residents of nursing homes and personal care homes. Phone: 717-783-8975.

Transportation, Meals, and Daily Supports

Many daily supports are coordinated through local Area Agencies on Aging and may include senior transportation, home-delivered meals, caregiver support, and wellness services. If you are unsure which county office provides a specific service, we encourage you to start with PA Link or your county AAA for a direct referral.

Resources for Homecare Employees

Required Background Clearances (Common in PA): PATCH (Pennsylvania State Police criminal history check) and Child Abuse History Clearance (through the CWIS portal). Requirements vary by role and employer.

Help for Working Caregivers: If you’re a homecare worker facing challenges with housing, food, utilities, or transportation, dial 211 for local help. PA Link can also assist caregivers and families with navigation and referrals.
